What are the key responsibilities of the Resource Center Coordinator?
The Association for Democratic Advancement Democracy Lab has the pleasure to open a call for applications for the selection of one full-time paid Youth and Community Center Coordinator in Gostivar.
- Directs and handles the day-to-day activities of the YCC.
- Inventories library collection and assesses future needs.
- Assists YCC users in locating and using materials and equipment.
- Creates, designs, organizes, and facilitates programs and events, in cooperation with the other YCC coordinator and Democracy Lab.
- Prepares venues, publicity materials, handouts, logistics, etc., for programs and events.
- Establishes and maintains linkages with other organizations, cultural centers and similar institutions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Carries out special projects as needed.
- Keeps accurate records of usage of materials, numbers and types of clients, visitors, etc.
- Prepares statistical and narrative reports on activities.
- Website administration. Updating social media feed for upcoming and past events and sharing interest content for their target groups.
- Creating an effective outreach program for outdoor events.
- All program issues including programming, formulating and publishing calls for proposals selection of proposals, assistance in writing applications, assistance in implementation reviewing project reports, and reporting.
- Their work will also involve communication with institutions to a great extent (ex. Organizing a bike tour or hike for a community cause, will need meetings with municipality, local police authorities, maybe also any sponsor).
- Implementation of YCC budget and financial reporting of the Youth and Community Center.
Candidate requirements:
- Friendly, positive, cooperative and a great team player.
- Excellent organizational, communication and coordination skills.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social sciences, languages or arts.
- High interest and passion for community work, especially in working with young people.
- Full professional proficiency in Macedonian and English. Proficiency in Albanian and/or Turkish will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent technical skills in Microsoft Office, Google Tools skills, small library software and social media content management.
- Event planning and coordination skills.
- Ability to conduct narrative and financial reports of events and projects.
- Ability to manage and keep evidence of the financial and other resources belonging to the center.
- Prior community work in management level and volunteering experience will be considered an advantage.
