Women in Public Life
Gender equality is becoming more prominent a priority in many countries by the day. There are substantial efforts made to empower women and foster an environment which combats gender discrimination through government policy as well as awareness campaigns. This event is not one that is meant to result in policy, but commence a social dialogue and show women what success looks like in our society and what it takes to achieve it.
We envision this event as a platform of informal personal story sharing. We believe that we do not need to teach women how to do things, they are more than capable of it. What we want to provide is a form of assurance, inspiration and encouragement! We want young women to hear how these successful women overcame social stigma, challenges and obstacles. Moreover, we want young men to become aware of their privilege and through their stories understand that the agency of change is within them to empower women, promote gender equality and create a society with equal opportunity for all.
